I caught a cold 3 days ago and I'm cured! It's so weird. I worked on Friday and I felt rotten. Headache, stuffiness, extreme fatigue. I didn't think I could make it through 12 hours. Thank God that Frank took it easy on me and gave me a light assignment. I had to keep going into a little old lady's room in the ER because her IV pump kept alarming and her nurse was busy. A little later her husband came out and gave me two bags of Ruby Red Grapefruits that he grew at home. How sweet was that? So I've been eating lots of grapefruit (Vitamin C) and by Sunday I felt like a new person. It's funny how things seem to work out.

We can really tell a difference in Larry since he started on his injections. He gets up faster and runs around a lot more. He's a happier dog.

I'm on a new kick....Mexican cooking. I bought some Masa and make some homemade corn tortillas. I made Enchiladas last night that were really good. I'm also going to try some flour tortillas tonight and experiment with some salsas. I'm going to plant some tomato plants in the back yard so I'll have plenty of tomatoes to use. Yummy!

Betty gave Dave a gift certificate to the Bonefish Grill for his birthday. We went there Saturday and had a great meal. It seems that people either love it or hate it. We had coconut shrimp as an appetizer that so awesome. Dave got trout, garlic potatoes and salad and I got the Ahi Tuna and chowder. I also had two lemon drop martini's. We didn't have room for desert. Everything was wonderful.

I'm really proud of two sets of my friends for having the balls to do what they want. Terri and Kevin have sold their house, are getting rid of all their stuff and are moving onto a sail boat. How awesome is that? Then, Pam & Dhamikka have also sold their house and they are moving to the other side of the world, to Sri Lanka. They will probably buy a small motel or Bed & Breakfast. What an adventure. They can take their two dogs with them.

Well, now I feel a little inadequate to talk about my boring little life. But, sometime boring is good. The ER has been really busy lately. The I-Connect project is picking up. We're suppose to go live in August. I'm the Team Leader for the three ER's in our hospital system. I've been working two days on the floor then one day with the project. In a few months I'll probably be doing more Computer work and less ER. I enjoy both areas so it's like I get the best of two worlds.

I took Larry to the vet a few days ago and was told that he has arthritis. The vet gave him a medication called Adequan, which is an injection. It's a form of Glucosamine. This medication helps 80% of the dogs. He said if Larry showed an improvement by the next day that the med would be beneficial. You could really tell a difference! So I will be giving him injections at home for the next 3 weeks (a total of 6 doses). This should help for approximately 6 months then we'll repeat the series. You know, Larry is such a good fella and he loves us unconditionally. We'll do whatever it takes to make him comfortable. I love that little spotted guy!

Wow, I'm watching Oprah and she's talking to a girl who is a sex addict and had sex with 90 guys. That's a lot of penises! Yuk!

Karen Felt's back in town, YEA! We all went to Red Lobster for a Chick Lunch yesterday and she told us all about her new "girlfriend". Only Karen!

We have a special weekend guest, Shadow. Terri and Kevin are in Jacksonville and we thought this would be a good time to test the waters to see how Larry and Shadow hit it off. They did much better than I thought they would. But, we have one big issue....food. Larry is a grazer. We feed him once a day and he'll leave it in his dish and nibble all day. Well, that doesn't work with Shadow here. Shadow gets fed twice a day and he then will gobble up Larry's food. So we have to put Larry's food up and offer it to him hourly. So far, he's not eating much. Shadow also misses his parents. He moped and roamed around looking for them. He slept on the bed with us but he kept getting up to look for Terri and Kevin.

Larry and Shadow got into a little spat this morning and the brave dog that Shadow is hid behind Dave:

Is that cute or what?

Well, I'm going to go walk Shadow and try to wear him out. He's still a little nervous.

Steelers win the Super Bowl! We went to a Superbowl party at Jane and Charlie's last night and, as always, had a great time. Dave and I are not really football fans (we like baseball....Go Braves!) but we had to root for the Steelers since that's Dave's old stomping grounds. We even won the last quarter of the football pool!

We're thinking about getting another dog. What a dilemma. Sometimes I think we over analyse things. Will Larry want a new playmate? How will they all get along (including the kitty)? The thoughts of puppyhood makes me squimish. How do we keep their dog dishes separate (puppy food vs. senior food)? What about vacations? Ahhhhh, the list is endless. On the positive side, we'll have double the love and we want another good watch dog (AKA Canine Security Officer).
Decisions, decisions.
